Brighton 10
Well it was my second race as a dad and I managed to stay on 2 feet this time. Last year I ran 30:29 in pretty good weather, so 30:50 is an ok run considering the wind and the lack of sleep over the last week or so. I went off pretty steady and missed the break of about 8 athletes or so. I ended up running about 5k with this small German guy before pushing on and trying to close on the group in front. The next 4k was on my own, but I did manage to close down on Hopkins and Bond before the German came flying back past me with about 600 to go. I was pretty tired by then and just jogged over the line. After the race I was a little disappointed, but the last 3 weeks have been a massive life changing times, so all in all it was ok. I have no idea what my splits were, but the long 5k stretch was into the wind so would have been pretty slow. Awesome run my Davies............. must be worth a 28:30 in good weather.
