Southern Six Stage
Another relay and another medal for me, although a little disappointed with Silver. Aldershot managed to get out most of there big names and deserved to take the win. It was also nice to see Woodsie walking around with a smile, or almost a smile.
Leg 3 17:29.
Went of pretty hard and clocked 8:59 at halfway. I felt really good but could not close on the Aldershot runner therefore the run became more of a time trail. I have never been that great at running on my own and my second lap showed, the times in general did look a bit slower so I was not to upset, plus smashing Goolab/Jonesy again was a bonus. Great run by Speighty, although first leg is worth 27 seconds, so I also beat Neil by 1 second - happy days.
Role on the National where we all should be a bit fitter and Mottrom should be cleared to run for us. It will be the best race for years with plenty of teams battling it out at the front. One thing I will say is if Birchfield/Shettlestone do field 4/5 Africans per team surely it will take the joy out of winning. I know in the past we have had a Auzzie running for us, but if my memory is correct we have had no more than 1 foreigner in a winning 6 stage team and still got slatted for it.
