Trainingsession 4th October - 10th October
M- Travelling to Doha. No run possible which is probably a good thing and helped my cold disappear.
T- 5 miles am. That was a mistake! It was so bloody hot and the roads and paths were a nightmare. I then vowed not to run in the mornings and only run round the Aspire Centre in the evening. 5 miles pm round the Aspire Centre. Luke Gunn showed us a round the place na d the run route. It goes dark early and temperature drops a little. Nice running.
W- 10 miles pm. Ran with Luke Gunn, Andy Vernon and Ben Moreau for the first five miles and then Ben and I did the next five miles. Felt good, had to hold myself back a little and not get carried away.
T- Even though I vowed only two days ago not to run in the mornings I did a run this morning because it meant I wouldn't lie in bed too long. Up at 7am for a 20 minute run. 2.5 miles. It was hot and dusty running with Luke and Andy on some waste land across the road from the hotel. 10 miles pm.
F- 2.7 mile am nice and steady. 6 miles pm from the Aspire Centre.
S- 3 miles at the Aspire Centre. Decided to go down there to run as it pasted time getting the bus. Session at night. Warm up 15 mins, 12 x 1 min hard off 1 min recovery jog, warm down. Hit them all hard and felt good. 10 miles. Best thing about training at the Aspire is the man on the golf buggy with the bottles of chilled water. Just finished my session and along he came.
S- Physio am. 1 hour. 9 miles pm. Nice and steady. Felt good.
Weekly total- 63.2 miles.
Training has gone well this week. Pleased with how things have gone while out in Doha. It is probably the hottest place I have ever trained. Not sure if Doha would ever be top of the list to go and run a marathon. But I bet the prize money would be good there!!!!!!
