Trainingsession Training 13th December - 19th December
Another good week of training which again got altered due to the snowy conditions we seem to be getting hit with.
M- 6 Mile am. 10.72 miles in the evening from Sports City. (1hr00mins00) Ran hard for the whole run round the city centre. Felt good.
T- 6 mile am. Evening session. 8x3mins off 1 min recovery. Did the session on my own. Found a nice road near Sports City that was very quiet and did loops round it. Will upload a garmin connect later on to my facebook page of the run. Hit all the reps as hard as I could. Felt good which was surprizing. 10.51miles covered in the session with warm up and down. (1hr01min08)
W- No morning run as Kadi had her worst nights sleep in a long time. She was up most of the night crying trying to tell us she had ear ache and a sore throat. I ended up in the 'Dora' bed while she sat up in our bed with Donna. 10.32 miles pm from Sale Harriers. (1hr.00mins10) Felt good and the run was all on flat paths and roads.
T- 6 Mile am. 10.69 mile pm. (1hr08mins35) Much slower run tonight due to the arrival of fersh snow and icey conditions.
F- 6 Mile am
S- Morning session cancelled due to guess what? Snow!!! So out for a run. Started with Donna from my mums house and did her warm up for the first three miles. I left her at Mossley Park where she was going to attempt 10 x 2mins and I headed off up to top Mossley and over Lydgate. Some good climbs. 11.04 mile. Evening run in the snow on the moors in the dark. 5.14 mile and very very slippy.
S- Opted to do the Stoop Fell Race. It's only a short race, straight out, up the Stoop and back the same way. Which means on the way back you are running against all the runners behind you. And considering this is off road, on a single path makes for some interesting clashes! Ian Holmes won by a few seconds. Racing Ian is always difficult when its in his 'back yard', the clag is down and the ground is covered in snow. I got to the top first, but Ian got a too big a gap on the downhill which I mamby pandied around on coming down. By the time we hit the beck on the long run in to home I was pushing hard to try and pull him back but just didnt close the gap quick enough. 4.3 miles and 1 mile warm up. No warm down as it was straight back to the pub for soup and chips. When i got home I then went out for a steady 10.33 miles. Will upload the route from my Timex Global Trainer to my Facebook account if you want to see what the Timex set up is like. Really good being able to download the data from the watch to Training Peaks software which supports the downloads.
Weekly total- 97.05 mile
Felt good running this week. Always enjoy my running, but really enjoyed it this week. Maybe because it was my last week at work for the year. Did all of my running this week, apart from the race of course, on my own. Was planning on doing the Red Rose XC but with the snow coming didn't fancy getting stuck in Blackburn!!!!
