Trainingsession Training 20th December - 26th December
M- 10 mile am with Carl. Ran from mine to Dovestones and back via Greenfield. Snowy and icy. 5.57 mile pm from home.
T- 9.57 mile am. Warm up with Carl and then 16 x 1 min off 30secs on my own when Carl went for a run. Hit them as hard as I could. Had my spikes on and did the session on a snowy trail in Greenfield. Warm down home with carl. 6.904 mile pm from Sports City. All on paths and roads.
W- 10.04 mile am with Carl from his house. Headed up Hartshead Pike and back via Ashton.
T- 10.41 miles am with Carl. On roads and canal therefore making for a quicker run for the first time in the week.
F- 10 mile at lunchtime with 16 x 1min efforts. Went out a little later than planned but my only job of the day was to do this run so no rush required. Did a nice warm up down to the reser in Hadfield and then did my efforts on grass in XC spikes as this seemed like the best option. Hit them all hard, but not as hard as I could have hit the dog owner who insisted her dogs were not going on a lead. Felt good on the session but tired on the warm up and down.
S- Chirstmas day. Much discussion on Runnerslife facebook page and Eightlane.com about running Christmas day. Should you run or not run on Christmas day? Well thats up to you. I ran. 6 miles at 5am. It was freezing as well which is no surprize. Saw one man walking his little dog and then for the rest of time it seemed as though I was the only person on the planet.
S- 6.74 mile am with Carl Hardman and Gaz Raven. Nice and steady in preparation for the Ribble Valley 10k. Got a cold so not sure if I will do the race.
Weekly total mileage- 75.234 miles
Lower weekly mileage than the previous weeks but was easing down for the Ribble Valley 10k. In the end I have ended up not doing the race as I had a cold, which made no difference as the race was cancelled due to bad weather.
