Trainingsession Training 24th May - 30th May
This weeks training sees an increase in the miles. 10 weeks out from the European Marathon Championship race and it's time to start the build up and get serious.
M- Return of the morning run. 5 miles am. 10 miles pm.
T- Track closed due to the Paralympic World Cup being held at Sports City. Warm up, 8 x 3mins off 1 min jog, warm down. 11 miles total.
W- 5 miles am. 10 miles pm.
T- 13 miles pm
F- 5 miles am
S- 20 mins in the morning. 3 miles. Pace making in the evening at the Sports City BMC. Warmed up with the wife before her 800m race. My first pace making was straight after her race finished. Ensuring she finished her race was harder work than my pace making. Why do girls always talk themselves out of the race? Anyway she finished in 2.08 in the B race which was a bit pushy at times, so a good first 800m race of the season for her and a peaceful night after it!!! My pace making was 69/70 second laps for 3k in the C 5000m. Went through 3k in 8.38. Second pace making was at 9.45pm, mens B 5000m. So a good period of recovery between the two runs. They wanted 67/68 second laps and went through 3k in 8.32. Was very pleased with my runs as it was the first time I had been on the track since before the London Marathon. Warm down. Total for the night 10 miles.
S- 2 hour run after a lie in. Not been in bed till 8.30am for a very long time. Went out on the moors but stuck to well defined paths as the legs ached after last weeks adventures. 18 miles.
Weekly total- 90 miles
A good weeks training. Things are going in the right direction and the mileage is building nicely. Next week should be over 100 miles.
