Trainingsession Training 29th November - 5th December
This weeks training has gone well. Things had to change a little with the arrival of snow from Tuesday onwards. It managed to stop my Tuesday session and also forced me to racing the Manchester League XC on Saturday when we decided late Friday afternoon that a road session was not going to be possible.
M- 6 mile am, mile pm
T- 9.43 with Jason Ward from Sportys City. Lot of it off road in to Clayton Vale in the lovely fresh snow.
W- 6 mile am. 10 mile pm in the snow.
T- 10 mile pm, lot of the run with Gareth Raven. Some big snow drifts to climb over and through.
F- 6 mile am. Freezing cold. Could tell it was cold when I stepped outside the door and I could feel the cold air in my lungs. -13 when I started to run at 5am.
S-Had to get up early to go check out the Gravy Pud route. I had to call the race off and move it to the Round The Resers Route. 4.10 mile am. Manchester League XC in Boggart Hole Clough. I used to train in the cloyugh every Tuesday for years. Used to meet Nick Jones and warm up for the track session but over time the venue got a little rough and often we were used as target practice by the local stone throwing club! Enjoyed the XC race. did 4 mile before the race as we eneded up being there so early. Didn't know what to expect after two sessions since starting running again. Finished 2nd to Tom Lancashire. 32.45. Took a tumble towards the end of lap 2 and got nicely covered in mud! 3.12 mile pm to mark out the race for Sunday. Tired that eveninmg and enjoyed a nice Chicken Balti from my curry man in Mossley.
S- This is the day we put on the Gravy Pud. Due to the snow it would have been to dangerous to run the normal fell route so I decided to run the race on the Round the Resers route. It worked well and 60 runners turned up to support the race and to help raise funds for Jades Wheels. We would have liked more runners as we usually get well over 100 for the fell race but obviously considering the weather and the number of roads closed it was good to get 60 runners. After the race and the presentstion jason Ward and I headed out for a run. With the conditions being bad and me wanting to get on the moors to enjoy the snow I only covered 11.38 miles in 90 mins but it was all hard going.
Weekly total- 76.05 miles
