Trainingsession Training 31st Jan - 6th Feb 2011

This week has been mad busy.

M- 6 miles am, 10 miles pm.
T- 6 miles am, session on my own pm.  Had to get home from work as soon as we finished school to get my session done.  Warm up, 8x3mins, warm down.  10 mile total.  Hit my reps hard and felt good.  Some were up hill, some flat and some down hill.  But had to do what I could with the time I had available.  Was giving a talk at 7pm at Adidas Manchester to some competition winners.
W- 10 miles am, 6 miles pm.  Had to do my longer run in the morning this Wednesday as I was at Adidas Liverpool at night doing another talk.  It screwed me over Wednesday.  My runs went ok, but from this day on I was tired for the rest of the week.  I don't mind the odd bit of work I have to do for Adidas because they look after me very well.  But maybe next time I have to do a little bit of work for them in the week I might have to speak to my coach about how we can change to week aroundto work it all in.
T- 16 mile run pm.  Felt good, but some miles were a little slower than what I was going for as the wind was picking up and seemed to be blowing in my face the whole run.
F- 6 miles am, 6 miles pm.
S- Today was the day the busy week finally caught up with me.  It was raining hard, cold and I was not in the mood, but tried my session.  Session was 5 x 1mile off 2 mins recovery.  First rep went ok, nothing to write home about but ok.  Second rep was just pants and I stopped shortly after 800m.  Had a quick chat with my coach about how tired I felt and also felt tight around the hips.  Made a quick plan which we finished off discussing on Sunday about what the next few weeks will be like. So I ended up doing 6 miles am.  Went to give some prizes out at lunchtime at the Salford Primary schools cross country.  It was encouraging to see so many kids participating and eagerly awaiting the prize giving of the seasons end results.  Bit disappointing that in Salford there are 80 primary schools and 17 took part.  Check out some of the video on www.athletematters.com of the kids races. Went from the presentation to physio at Athlete Matters.  Spent most of the afternoon after picking Kadi up from a swimming party lying in bed wasting time!  5.5mile pm.  Started to feel much more like myself on my evening run.
S- Didn't go out too early today as I decided to stay in bed until Kadi woke up which was 7.30am.  Then did a few things at home before driving to Donnas sisters to run from there.  The mad thing is that we drove to Donas sisters and I ran back home over the moors, down on to the canal and back to Hyde then Mottram.  Seems strange running by my own house and not stopping my run. 20 miles steady.  Very windy on the moors.

Total weekly mileage- 107.5 miles

Hopefully after some good rest this last few days I will start feeling like myself again.  Todays extra bonus is my weekend just got at least a whole day longer.  Text from the Head Teacher, school closed tomorrow.  Boiler blown up, cellar flooded and electrics buggered.  Hopefully fixed for Tuesday.  I need school to be open as I have a lot to do with my year 11 students, but the extra day off where I can rest up will be very weclomed!
