Trainingsession Training 5th July - 11th July
So another week comes to end and it's only another 10 working days left for me. Thats if you can count being paid to go to theme parks with hundreds of kids who I wont see once in the place!!!
M- 6 mile am, 9 mile pm. Was supposed to be 6 mile pm but did a few mile with Raven to find out about his race at the European Mountain Championships (He was 25th) and then a little bit with Donna on her warm down.
T- 6 mile am, 10 mile pm after a long parents evening. Went to Littlebourgh as it wasn't worth going home before physio and ran up and over Blackstone Edge. Physio at 8.30pm.
W- 6 mile am, 10 mile pm.
T- 15 miles pm. Felt good on the run. Hit it hardand kept a good pace going.
F- 6 mile am, 6 mile pm. Was a tough day at work with shifting machinary early on in the morning from another school which closed down last week. Was heavy work having to unbolt machines that had been in place for 20 years and then work out how to get them in the back of a Corsa and Skoda. Was interesting and tested the suspension of both cars! Made even harder in shirt and tie!
S- Session in Heaton Park which was taken over by girls in pick tu-tus and pink wigs! Race for Life hit the park this weekend. Session was 6x1mile. Did the first 4 in good times and felt good. The had to change session due to numbers of runners arriving for the 10k. Did the hill and the 1k loop twice. Long warm down to make up for the 2 mile warm up. Total 13 miles. 6 miles pm at Solihul track. Ended up all on roads out and backso I didn't get lost! Donna ran 2.07.17 in the 800mB race. She was pleased with this. She was after a little quicker and another sub 2.07 would have been nice after her races at the UK Trials the other week.
S- Went to watch Donna in Race for Life at Heaton Park. She won, which isn't what the race is about but still pleasing. She runs the race in memory of her dad. She finished in 17.28 and if you sponsored her pay up!!! It's for a very good cause. I decided to then run back to Donna's sisters house in Hollingworth. Ended up as a 24 mile run. Set off from the park and followed the long road back to Oldham and into Daisy Nook. Got to East Cheshire Harriers AC in 45 minutes so then had to think about where else to go or else I would get back to Hollingworth too quick. Decided to head up the canal to Hyde and over Werneth Low. Dropped down in to Broadbottom and back to Glossop. Then stuck in a short lap up Cow Lane and over to Hollingworth Farm. Nice warm weather for a long run. Felt good on the run and used a few Shotz Gels which I will use in the marathon if there is an option to put own drinks out. Not sure what the score is with regards own drinks at the moment.
Weekly Total- 117miles.
Another good week of running and training. Only 20 days left now till the marathon. This next week sees a similar week to this but by the time I get to Sunday I will be reducing the long Sunday run. Next Sunday is alos the sixth running the Gravy 6 Trail Race we organise. If you fancy running it check www.northernboyslovegravy.co.uk out.
