Trainingsession Trainiong 21st June - 27th June
Another big mileage week with three good sessions in it.
M- 6 mile am, 11 mile pm.
T- 6 mile am, road session in the afternoon. 8 x 3mins off 1 min jog. warm up and warm down. 12 mile in total. (Was the schools sponsored walk day so got an early finish and got the session done mid afternoon in the hot sun.)
W- 6 mile am, 11 mile pm. Nice steady run with Rocky up the river Mersey.
T- 15 mile pm. Was a hot evening and ran my run hard.
F- 6 mile am, 6 mile pm. Evening run on the canal in Birmingham from the European Trails.
S- Session on my own on the roads at home. Should have been going to Heaton Park but Donna made the semi finals of the 800m so had to miss the planned session and do my own session early on in order to drive back to Birmingham. Session was 6 x 5mins off 2 mins jog recovery. Felt very good on the efforts, hit them all hard. 13 miles in total. 5 miles pm when I got back home from Birmingham.
S- 24 miles. Went out at 7.30am as I wanted to make sure I had done my run and Donna had her run done so we could go out and watch the football. (Should have gone for me run during the match!) Headed down the canal to Sports City and back home via Philips Park, Clayton vale, Daisy Nook and Hartshead Pike. All good roads, paths and tracks to ensure the run stayed at a good pace.
Weekly total- 121 miles.
Another big week and pleased with how things are going. Weeks quickly ticking down now to the marathon. 5 weeks left. The next week is going to start as normal and then we will look for a race on Sunday to do so as the week goes on the mileage will reduce slightly. If I race Sunday plan will be to do the race and then continue with a long run.
