Boggart Hole Clough XC

This race was part of the Manchester League XC series.  I haven't raced one for ages but really enjoy the league races.
Race was held in snowy conditions and I wasn't even aware I was doing it until Friday afternoon when my coach said to do the race instead of trying to do a session in the snow and ice.  Race was popular as the Red Rose league was cancelled.
Started well and lead the race round for the first lap and a half.  Tom Lancashire was right with me all the way and then coming towards the end of the second lap I fall over!  Tom slows and asks if I am alright and I told him to carry on running and not to waste time picking me up off the muddy floor!  He was always going to beat me because even if I was still with him in the final stages he would have sure leftme for dead in the finish!  Everyone knows I am not the quickest.
Was pleased to finish second and 22 seconds behind Tom.  Ran much better than I thought I would.
