Calderdale Way Relay

This is a relay race of six stages where you have to run in pairs.  It's usually held the first sunday of December but was cancelled due to bad snow.  They did a great job at rearranging it and I really enjoy the event.  The race Halifax Harriers put on is excellent.
This year I was running with Carl Hardman.  Carl has missed some running this last year due to injury but is hopefully over it now.  WE put in a strong run and ran the fastest time on our leg, but was some way slower than last years time.  I can't work out how we lost so much time when the course was dry and made for good running.
Overall Salford Harriers finished second.  Calder Valley took the lead from the start on leg 1 and totally dominated the race.  It's all very well me sitting here saying we had John Brown and Martin Cox missing and just imagine if we had Billy Burns but it's all about who you can get out to run for you on the day.  Calder Valley had the boys out and got the job done.  Well done.
Please look after the trophy Calder Valley, keep it clean because we are coming back for it in December!!!!
