Manchester 10k

First proper race since the VLM.  Wasn't too sure about how the race would go so eased down from the mileage in the second half of the week ready for the race.  Heard on the old rumour mill that Webb and Hudspith were coming to do the race.  Knew there would be one or two Africans in the race as well.  As it happened there was only Jean and Mitchy.  Race set off hard and I was happy to run as hard as I could from the gun.  Leaving the track Jean and I were together.  This stayed the same through 3k in 8.24.  Suspect the Km markers were well out on this race!!  Jean pulled away through the 4km and I eventually pulled him back just before the 5km.  We stayed together through till 7km where he pushed on and pulled out a gap.  He maintained this gap all the way back to the track. He ran 29.22 and I ran 29.32.  Was pleased with my race and how I felt during it.  Was even more pleased by the long run after the race with Joe Bailey.  Mainly ran at sub 6 minute miles.
Next race......  the marathon!!!!
