Reservoir Jogs 9 Mile Race

Cracking local race and well organised.  Donna was moaning she had no one to run with on Sundays so she decided to do this very local race.  I therefore opted for it as I was down for an hour run anyway.  The race was a clockwise run round four of the five reservoirs that run along the side of the Woodhead Road.  Many of you will know this road as it is often mentioned on the radio traffic reports as it is the start of the bottle neck towards the M67.  But on Sunday it is very quiet and the route selected for the race is very appealling to those who like a bit of off road but still enjoy nothing too technical.  So it suited Donna as well!
The race was part of the Kiwi Classic Race events organsied by Jason and his mate.  They are getting good turn outs for the races and they seem to have a lot of support.  The course was well marshalled and even included a vimto drinks station!  I set off steady and ran just a little harder than I would have on a sunday run.  I won the race and Donna was 4th, but first women.  The prizes offered were great considering it was the first running of the event and entries were effected by the poor weather.
