Moved up too soon

Do you not think that you moved up distances too soon? Having run sub 28.00 once and a reasonable 3000 chase i was expecting you to run low 13:20 then once you'de run 27:30's move to marathon. You are just not quick enough to run a sub 2:10 yet

Hi Andrew

Woulld you be willing to go into more detail on your training logs for example the pace of the sessions/ long run?

Extra Detail Posted on February 25th, 2011

I answered this in a another question on last weeks training/blog. Easy runs I just go with how I am feeling that day. If I am tired then I run slow, if I feel good I run a little quicker, as long as it won't affect the next hard workout. This ranges anywhere from 5.30 to 7.30 pace. Living at 7,000ft you really have to watch how fast you run on the easy days as you can really tire yourself if you cross over the line.
For recovery I take a lot of ice baths and Epsom salt baths. I stretch twice a day, use a foam roller and get massage every week.

pace of easy and steady runs

Hi Andrew, great to see you blogging on here, excellent stuff. Was just wondering what sort of pace you do you easy and steady runs at? I am impressed at the volume you can bang out week after week, what sort of strategies do you employ to recover so quickly?
