Trainingsession 20th - 26th June
Sunday - Guernsey Half marathon at marathon pace. 67.41. Again felt just a little harder than it should. Good session though. Did 30 mins warm down after. (19)
Monday - 80 mins running home from work. Couldn't run this am as was flying back form Guernsey so did a longer pm run. Slightly underestimated it though so ended up being quite long! 6.31 miling (12.5)
Tuesday - AM - 39 mins easy (5.5)
PM - 2 x (6 x 400m) off 100m jog and 400m jog between sets. (69, 69, 69, 68, 69, 69, 68, 69, 67, 68, 69, 69). Same story. Windy but felt harder than it should. Did session on my own but this should feel very comfortable and just felt like I was forcing it a bit more than I wanted to. Was nowhere near flat out, but 800s at that pace would have felt very hard. (10)
Wednesday - AM - Testing at Loughborough. Not sure of distance but did 10 mins jog, then 3 min efforts at 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 km/h. Quite hard work towards the end! Will blog about it soon. (6)
PM - 47 mins easy with Nick at 6.48 miling (7). Legs felt a bit heavy.
Thursday - AM - 60 mins on hilly route. Am using HRM again as instructed by UKA Dr to see how my heart rate is. 6.36 miling and averaged 148. (9)
PM - 59 mins steady with John, on hilly route again. Legs felt tired. (9)
Friday - 46 mins steady with John round Hampstead Heath at 7.09 miling. Heart rate average was 156. Pretty high! (6.5)
Saturday - 5k Southern Mens League in 15.10. Lapped the field but there was a bit of a wind but still felt like hard work. I ran it hard, if not flat out. A bit disappointing. 4 x 5mins tempo after on a hillyish road. Was 5.30-6min miling. Just ran comfortable threshold pace. (10)
97.5 miles. A tired week to be honest. Legs felt tired. Am under instruction to run steadies to heart rate now as some 'recovery' runs are obviously still too hard.
