London Pride 10k
I came into this race knowing that competition wouldn't necessarily be brilliant, but I was going to combine it with an easy week, and aim to be fresh and run hard. I ran pretty hard, but not that fast...
I think the problem was in me trying to motivate myself to attack the race, with the knowledge that I may have to go out hard. A 2.50 first km witht he wind in my face was probably a bit too hard however, and by 3k I wasn't really enjoying myself. I told myself to settle into a rhythm and I missed the km times but mile splits were oscilalting between 5.00 and 5.20, depending on whether the wind was with or against me.
I ended up running 31.45, which isn't very fast, and is about a minute down on what I want to go through 10k at Bristol in a few weeks. However, this is very close to what I've run here for the past couple of years, and it never seems to be that fast, which I think is to do with me being alone and having to lap lots of people in the 2nd half of the race.
I just have to put it out of my mind now and focus on the next few weeks of training. I think just doing a hard run will have done me good, and I have an offriad 10km next week and will try and run faster there!

Yes - just move on and concentrate on your next race. Use this as a tempo training run- just to test your speed, fitness and ability!
