Escaping the January weather

Hi

Sorry its been so long since i´ve updated anything on here, December sort of swallowed me up but i´ll get back in to the swing of things soon.  Thought i´d write a quick catch up blog from Sunny Spain.  I flew out last Friday & have had a good week so far, the weather has been pretty good on the whole & even the few cloudy overcast days have been much better than home.  Training has changed a little as i´m doing a few indoor races this year, so i´ve added in 1 1500mrace pace session in the week but on the whole i´m trying to keep things as close to normal as possible.  I would like to run well indoors but it is not the ultimate aim.

December proved very difficult for training North of the border.  I had to adapt quite a few sessions due to either the snow/ice or the crazy winds we were having.  There were a few sessions altered due to what we met at the track or on the road & there were even some modified sessions in the Clyde Tunnel or at Irvine Beach.  So i am pleased to be getting some uninterupted training done here in Spain.

I´m looking forward to a short indoor season this year as it has been a while since i´ve raced indoors, its also a little nerve racking as it is difficult to know exactly where you are in terms of race fitness.  Hopefully it will give me a good idea of where i´m at & what i need to do before we approach the summer.
