Rest & Recuperation

Hi

Last week after a chat with my coach/national coach & the doctor that i would be sensible & finish my season early.  This season has been tough & after what i believed to be my best winter's training so far i have ended up with a string of results that were very disappointing.

After a very interupted 2010 i was really looking forward to having a proper attack at my pb's this year & felt that i was on the right track right up until mid May.  Since that point i've been struggling with various minor health issue, nothing ever very serious but all added together meant that i was getting no consistent training under my belt.  I possibly made the mistake of not resting enough after a throat infection in the middle to end of May & since then seem not to have been able to really recover fully.

So for now my days consist of filling up the time that i would normally spend running/preparing to run.  Not an easy task.....not sure about everyone else but i seem to have the inability to sit still for very long. I've managed all sorts of jobs that needed done, although funnily enough not the tax return that is screaming out to me to be filed, i'm not quite that bored yet.

Our winter training never begins fully until the first week in October so after a few weeks of complete rest it will just be mainly easy running until the programme begins again.  Hopefully by then i will have learned how to sit back & relax.....or maybe not!
