Nivelles 800m

This was always going to be a tough race off the back of the disappointment of my run at Watford.  I'm pleased to say things did go a bit better here.  The time wasn't fast (2.06.19) but i felt that i was happier with the race & the way i felt both during & afterwards.

The pace was set to go through in 60s & the first 200m went off like we were on course, it then settled far to much & the leaders went through in high 62's, i had set out to try & sit in the pack & try to race a different way which meant i went through in around 63-63.5.  At that point any thoughts of times went out the window.  I started to move out round the back straight to try & get in better contact with the leader, there were a few people to pass so i just tried to pick them off one by one. I got passed 1 or 2 in the back straight & made upmost of my ground on the home straight passing everyone else except one.  Looking back i just gave her far to much of a head start.  I was pleased with how strong i felt at the finish & there were plenty race lessons to be learned from it so all in all i was pleased.
