Laois Senior Cross Country Championships
It's that time of year again, when my county Champs take centre stage. The past three years have turned into a battle royal with Michael, with both of us knocking lumps out of each other. I won in 09, Michael won in 10 and I won again last year, so i .. Read More
So two weeks on from the trial race, and I'm finally able to find time to write about how it went or perhaps, how it didn't go for me.
The build up to the race was mixed at best and I've gone into that in my latest blog. I've never been great at running cross country in the mud, but knew before han .. Read More
On paper we had what looked like a team that could challenge for medals. The thing about relays and cross country is the race is never run on paper. Instead we ran around a muddy field in Mansfield.
After landing in Heathrow at 7.05am, I was collected by fellow Belgravian Will Cockerell. Wi .. Read More

I had planned on running the Glasgow Milers meet on Friday but when Michael { my brother} asked me to pace him on Saturday night in Dublin, we had to change plans. He was looking for Sub 14 minutes for the Irish Standard for the European U-23 champs.
It's slightly frustrating as Michael has .. Read More

So this race came about when John Travers got in touch with me and asked would I pace him to a decent 3km time a few weeks ago. I'm a big believer in athletes just getting on with it and making it happen for themselves and so when I heard that a guy just out of the junior ranks was willing to .. Read More

First off a big thanks has to go out to Scottish athletics for adding this race to their National Champs.

As I mentioned in my last blog "My Journal", I though I was in better shape than this time last year. I was right 2 seconds faster. It's no secret I was hoping to run faster and at least go sub 8.

The first Sunday of every new year is set aside for my County CC. It's usually the only race I get to run for my local club, so I always like to do it, like most county championships in Ireland its a very small affair, with only about 30 guys in the senior mens race.
My first time to run the senior .. Read More
