update 29/08/2011
Hi all,
Hope you are all enjoying the World Athletics champs, even with them being on channel 4 just doesn’t seem right and feels like they have plucked random presenters out of no were with no or little knowledge of the events, but anyway I just turn the sound of and don’t have to listen to them. What I great race the men’s 10k was on Sunday and really gutted for Mo that he just missed out but still a great achievement and my money is on him still for the Olympics next year if he keeps getting better like he is at the moment, and what about all these false starts even had it in the Women’s Marathon its gone crazy can’t wait to see what else happens during the Games.
Training is back on track and feeling nearly 100 % better after the virus I picked up, and training was getting done but it felt far too much intense than it should have and it was taking me longer to recover, as I know how my body behaves after doing this sport for 23 yrs and knew it wasn’t right but hopefully all sorted now.
Had to drop out of a few races along the way Southern league and Solihull track 10k which I was gutted about as would have liked to have gone sub 30 but health comes first and to be honest if I had run I not raced to my potential I would have been more pissed off, so I knew I made the right call.
The week just gone was the first that my sessions and runs(see training blog) have been back to normal for about 3 weeks back to what I know they should be and getting the results that I want, the next race on my list is the Bristol half which is also the UK & World trails which makes it more of an important race as I know the field should be a very high standard, and I know my fellow Runnerslife Legend is running Mr Jones is racing and looking forward to a catch up and a good race, and seeing what can be achieved I don’t know what the course is like but would like to run quick but we have to wait and see what happens on the day.
Then pretty much getting ready then for the relays and the winter season and getting ready for all the mud cold etc even in the last couple of days you tell it is nearly September with the days getting a bit darker earlier and all so getting colder at night time had the heating on already, and my morning runs are being done more in the dark than light oh what joy I think I need a holiday somewhere warm for the winter months.
