7:07pm 9 miles including track session 5x800m (2mins). 2:14, 2:12, 2:12, 2:12, 2:15. Group of three of us: myself, Matt Barnes and Gareth Raven. We ran the first four reps together – possibly a touch quick for me but I’d rather have company for most of the session and push the boundaries. On the last one Matt totally spread us out and ran a 2:06.

7:08pm 10 miles including track session 8x300m (100m jog). 48, 47, 47, 47, 47, 47, 48, 49. Usually have plenty of company on Norman’s favourite pre-race session but tonight it was just myself and U17 Charlie Hulson. I learnt in the winter that I perform better in my race when I keep these steady – 47/48s is normally about right for me.

7:19pm 10 miles including Stretford 5000m B Race (3rd - 14:38) and pacing C Race. See race report. Good race and threw in some marathon pace work by pacing a group in the C race immediately after my race had finished.
