Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas all.
Hope you are all having a great day and treating yourself. I ran first thing this morning and planned to go 17-18miles but cut it short as I was feeling heavy legged. Christmas is usually one of my favourite times to go for a run because you know when you get back you are going to be treated to a mint meal. This year is a little different because I felt crap on the run due to a loaded week of training and it was very cold here in Albuquerque. Still not sure where I'm going to have my Christmas dinner yet but either way I'm sure I will enjoy watching the start of the NBA season and the Bears vs Packers NFL game.
The long run put me in a bit of a bad mood but when I came home to see pictures of my nephews opening their presents I was instantly snapped out of my huff. The family back home have promised me to get the tree back out and have another Christmas dinner when I'm there in February so I'll look forward to a rescheduled family Christmas then. By then I'm hoping to have a few more PBs to my name.
As training has gone so well the last couple weeks I just want to start racing now. My milage and training sessions have been very encouraging and I feel more than ready for the indoor season to start. There will be no excuses for me if I don't run fast because my preparation has most likely been the best I've had.
In this blog I'd also like to give David Bishop, Sam Evans, Ross Millington (even though he is home now) and Chris Barnicle a shout-out because they have been great training partners for me since I've been out here. All of them have given me extra motivation because they have just churned out good session after good session. Watch out for some big runs this year from these guys. Although I will be looking to get my Poweroften head-to-head stats with Bishop back to being in my favour.
Happy Holidays and happy training.
