Athleteprofile

Running instantly became an important aspect of my life when I ran my first race at Meadowbank (Edinburgh) when I was aged 11. Running came naturally to me at a young age and with having an older brother who was a very hard worker and desperate to be a successful athlete I was in an environment where I would run hard often.

At the age of 18 I made my first big break through and ran 3.43.10 for 1500m. Since then I have progressed my running steadily and hope to make another breakthrough this summer in search of an Olympic qualifying standard.

Now that I have graduated from Butler University (Indianapolis) I want to continue to make strides forward and race to my ability. Currently I am in search for some sponsorship and intend on gaining as many International vests as I can. If I can achieve all of this I will be a very happy guy. Hopefully I can entertain you with my blog.

Qualification came and went fairly comfortably. I maintained my talent of being drawn in the last heat which made things easier as I was able to check how fast the fastest loser ran in the first heat. After a slow first lap I hit the front and started clipping off laps fast enough to run under 3.51. .. Read More

Really encouraging race this week and was very nice to try something new on the track. Previously my track seasons have looked very similar and have consisted of a handful of 800s and a bunch of 1500s or miles. Knowing that I've developed a solid base over the winter and hit some nice strength sessi .. Read More

Opening indoor race of the season and wanted to use this as an indicator of my fitness and a guide for where I should take my training over the next 4 weeks. End of Indoors

Well this weekend didn't exactly end the way I had imagined it, but simply Lewis and James were the better athletes on the day. I'm happy that I put myself in the right positions to win but wasn't sharp enough at the end to compete for one of the top two spots.  My journey back to Edinburgh wa .. Read More

Lets be honest, running is a bloody hard sport. If you dedicated the same length of time that you spend carrying out all of your running related activities to a number of other professions you would most likely be rich. The past three weeks of training out here in Albuquerque has been a significant stretch of training for me and I can't wait for the indoor season to start. First week of altitude training has been logged and I'm feeling very happy with how things have gone.
