This past weekend, I opened my indoor season with a 5k at the Boston Terrier Invite. It was my first race since British Nationals seven months ago. I'm really enjoying getting back out there and feeling the nerves of racing again. I ended up running 14.45.43, which was enough to secure my place at Big East, indoors and outdoors.

Training has been going well lately. My last three track workouts have been fairly solid, even though I've been doing them on my own. Tempos have been good, and I've been running anywhere between 70 and 80 miles. My last three track workouts are below.

 Training Sessions

12x 400m w/ 75s rec: av 65.1

5x 1000m w/ 2m rec: av. 2.52.5

8x 600m w/ 2m rec: av. 1.38.1

There were some great runs at the meet this past weekend from some of the guys. Two of the best performances have to have been David McCarthy running 3.55 for the mile and Shane Quinn running 8.06 for 3k.

My next race is this Saturday at the University of Rhode Island. I'll be running the 3k along with my teammates Lee Carey, Ahmed Ali and Eric Malnati. Ray is using this race as more of a 'blow out' because the track is known to be very slow and doesn't have banked bends like most indoor tracks.

Thanks for reading and I'll hopefully have a race report on Sunday or Monday. Any questions, feel free to ask.
