Saddleworth 6 Mile Road Race

Andi Jones was back on the roads racing at the Saddleworth 6 Mile race after coming 2^nd on the weekend at the Meerbrook 15k. Andi, who has run 29.27 in the past, had to be content with 30 minutes dead this year after the recent Marathon exertions in Barcelona and the race on the weekend. Andi said after the race "I was pleased to finish in 30.00, would have liked to dip 30 or even run my low 29 I have ran before on the course but I haven't ran this fast for a little while now what with having the marathon championships the other week.  I now need to focus my training on some speed work if I am going to run well at the Sheffield 10k on Sunday 5th September".

Meanwhile on the track on Tuesday night, Stretford, Jonny Mellor was back in action after his 3.42 run in Belgium, Flanders Cup. Jonny won the 'A' 1500m race in 3:43.40.
