BAL & Leek Half Marathon
BAL Premiership match
Rory and Simon raced each other in the 3,000m at Lee Valley, London, on Saturday with Rory coming out on top even after running the 800m earlier in the day. Rory came 5th in the 'A' 800m in a time of 1.54.07 and then went on to beat Simon just over an hour later. On a windy day Rory won the 'B' race in 8.22 with Simon coming 3rd in the 'B' race in 8.35.
On a contrasting day Rory and his team, Newham&Essex Beagles went on to win the Premiership title while Simon and his team, Belgrave sadly got relegated from the top division.
BAL Division 1
Jonny Mellor doubled up for the day and ran the 1500m as well as the 3,000m for club City of Liverpool AC. Jonny won the 1500m 'A' race in 3.48 and just missed doing the double coming second in the 3,000m in 8.17.

Leek Half Marathon
On the roads Sunday morning Dave Norman included the Leek Half Marathon as part of his long run in preperation for the up coming Toronto Marathon. Dave came 1st in 1:17.19 and said "There were flatter much faster options but these involved travelling down south and for what was essentially part of a training run, there really wasn't much point. The hills if anything made me work extra hard and were the best form of strength training I could have had. I won the race by almost a minute and felt I got out of it exactly what I was looking for. It rounded off a 121 mile week so the legs will have been pretty tired!"
