Weekend Results
Rory Chesser raced over 1500m for the second time in a week at the Cork City Sports Games and ran a simliar time to the one he ran a few days earlier at Watford. 3.42.9 was the official time and 7th place after a 'messy' race which shows there is more to come from Rory and hopefully get the Irish qualifying time to go the European Championships in Barcelona. Rory was a bit frustrated with his tactics and said afterwards "In the conditions and with all the messing around it was OK. Although on the finish line I wasn't, I had a bit of a hissy fit after the race but once I calmed down I was all right. There was 1.1 seconds between myself and 1st place". The race was run by Durham athlete Shaun Moralee. Full Results HERE

In the British Athletics League, Premiership, Nick Goolab was also racing over 1500m and came 2nd in the 'B' race with 3.53.79. Nick helped his club Belgrave move of the bottom of the league. Nick has been happy with training and hoping the racing will match the sessions and said before the race "As far as training now goes it's going ok. I've put away some pretty good sessions just the races haven't gone as well". said Nick in his latest Blog.
Darren Deed was also racing for his club at the track at the British Athletics League, although a bit further down the leagues in Division 4 at home ground of Bedford. Darren was racing over 5,000m after running a solo 24.23 for 5miles on the road, Darren was also 2nd in the 'B' race with 14.40.0 official time. That was Darren's last track race and he is glad it is over saying after the race "I am happy with the way I ran the race feeling so strong, the only thing I haven't got at the moment on the track is the turn of speed.. but won't now as that is my track season over, it was long and tough but got it done".
Andi Jones was in action in Manchester over 10k on the roads and came 3rd in 29.34 as he continues his build up to the European Championships in Barcelona at the Marathon.
