WR attempt: Andrew Lemoncello

One of Britain's best distance runenrs and a former RunnersLife athlete will be trying to beat the world record for half marathon, running on a treadmill! His personal best time over the distance puts him in a good position to do so but running on a treadmill and doing it totally alone can present it's own obsticles and challenges.

The Scottish athlete will be doing for a very good cause which is something that is close to his and his wifes heart. Below Andrew talks about why he is doing this and how you can help and get involved. We will of course keep you updated and let you know how he gets on!

Our beautiful daughter Isla was born in June with Down Syndrome. She has been such a blessing to not only Julie and I but our whole family and everyone she meets. We're having such a wonderful time raising her and helping her work on her strength and coordination everyday. She's a very happy baby and I wish she knew how much she inspires us. Watching her work so hard gave me the idea to do something to help raise money for the NDSS, the National Down Syndrome Society as they have been a big help to us with connecting with other families who have children with DS and therapists who can help her develop as she gets older. On October 19th, I am going to be attempting to break the world treadmill half marathon record at the Chandler Fashion Mall in Phoenix, Arizona. I am doing this in order to raise as much money and awareness as possible for the NDSS and it would be wonderful if you could be there but if not then donating to the cause would be just as appreciated. I am trying to raise at least $10,000 so every little helps. Please watch the following youtube video which explains all the details.

Thank you in advance for any support you can offer.
