Routine- standard day
I've been back training a few weeks now so im back into the routine of early nights, early mornings and running miles again. I'd like to say my day started at 6am but i'd be lying because although my alarm goes off at 6am, im rarely/never out of bed before quarter past or 20past. A normal day for me looks like this;
6am Alarm goes off
6.15/20am I actually get out of bed, get dressed and have a cup of tea
6.30/40am Out the door for a run and somedays I head to the gym to do stretching and if im feeling ultra keen I might do my core work now but usually leave it until later.
7.30am Breakfast and back to bed or stay awake depending on how I feel.
9.30am Work in gym
12noon Do any weights or core that im programmed to do.
1pm Lunch
3pm OR 6pm Another run or Session depending on whether im working again or not.
10pm Bed.
Ive not really done anything exciting this last week or so, just trying to focus and stay in routine which is always hard after a break. Liz and I have started looking at the season but we've not really planned anything because whilst training is going ok and I don't seem to be 'unfit'. You never really know until you back off a little so as we know more we can plan further ahead but im pretty sure my race schedule will be the standard races before christmas with the focus first being on Liverpool and then hopefully the European Cross in Portugal in December. Although im trying not to look too far ahead because last year, whilst I still got to these races, I didnt get there in one shape so that has to be the main target which is to train hard but also to stay healthy and injury free. If I do this then everything else should fall into place. or thats the plan anyway :)
Tomorrow (Sunday) im going through to Stirling to make a debut over 10k on the road. Although the result will mean nothing as its way to early to be backing off training, so after a full weeks training this could be interesting. Im not that bothered by the result though its more for me to experience the distance and get a feel for it. Im really looking forward to it as it will be something different and might give us a little idea of how strong I feel off a full weeks training. Although waking up at 6am on a Sunday will be a very new experience as I have to leave at 7.30 to get to the course for a 10am start. Joys of road racing I think....
I will try and write a little report on how things go tomorrow...
Night :D ...x
