Crystal Palace Junior 3000m
Friday 13th....supposed to be an unlucky date. I couldnt believe it when I found out my race was on Friday 13th, with the season ive had which hasnt been great, it was kind of like 'as if....' but I thought well hopefully its not unlucky and ive just got to make sure I do everything within my control to make it go right.
It wasnt unlucky day and I came 3rd in a PB!! The first 1000m of the race was apparently in 3.08 sooo not fast and then Beth hit the front and it picked up for a bit before settling again. When Beth hit the front I missed the break which took her and Emelia away from the pack and when I realised it had gone I started chasing and managed to get rid of the pack and close the gap to 5seconds before the last 3 laps. At this point I thought I could close it completely and get back to Beth and Emelia but as I picked it up, so did they at the exact same pace and the gap stayed 7seconds over the last 3 laps to the finish.
But I couldnt complain as it was my last race of the summer and I got a good performance and a PB... am now on my break and can switch off for a couple of weeks.
Result: Emelia 9.27, Beth 9.27 and Me 9.34...

I saw the break... I wasnt confident enough to go with it.. for reasons I know of and because of things that have happened the last 2 years on the track for me... Liz and I are correcting them but things take time I cant turn it around overnight but Crystal Palace certainly helped and with a good winter and better understanding of Liz's training things will turn around. Thanks x

Thank You.. When I said it wasnt fast I meant that it wasn't like stupidly fast. 3.08 was well within everyones comfort range... it slowed because it was a race and it was chopping and changing not because people were dying... but thank you x
