Trainingsession 12/4/10-18/4/10

More training from Portugal. There was some easing down for the 12 stage but it was pretty pointless in the end.

Monday- am: 42 mins with Steve.

pm: 37 mins easy with Steve.

Tuesday- am: Track session with Steve of 8x400m off 200 jog in 45s then a few 200's. Times were 65, 66, 66, 65, 65, 65, 66, 65 then 28, 27, 27. Felt great in the session and the 200's felt pretty comfortable. The end of the 400's was tough but that's because of the nature of the recovery.

pm: 23 mins easy with Steve and Maria.

Wednesday- 34 mins easy with Steve and Maria, felt fine.

Thursday- 20 mins easy with Steve and Maria then the interview with Tom Gayle. After the interview did another 20 mins easy back to the hotel with a few strides in there, legs felt good.

Friday- Early start to the airport for our flight but ended up being cancelled. We were pretty pissed off so was just going to have a rest day but ended up going out for 50 mins.

Saturday- Track session with Steve and Nick McCormick. Session was 3x800m in 2:07/2:08 off 2:30 lap jog then 4x400m off 200 jog in 60-62. Times were 2:08, 2:06, 2:07, 60, 61, 59, 60. Brilliant session and surprising how easy those times felt. It was hard work but running those reps didn't feel as hard as I thought. The 400's didn't feel very fast whereas last year a 60 felt like a sprint. I even finished the 800's considering whether or not I could hold that pace for 7 and a half laps straight off...?

Sunday- am: 97 mins with Steve. Those who read my training regularly will realise this is way above what I normally do and I think it's 20 mins longer than my longest run ever, so I have a new PB for longest amount of time running. We didn't mean to be out this long but we got lost. Still, I got through the run fine and my legs felt ok going into the 90 min zone. I was very proud of myself afterwards.

pm: Core and prehab exercises with Maria

62 mile week
