Trainingsession 7/9/09-13/9/09
This weeks running.
Monday- 60 mins steady with core. Felt a bit tired on this run. It didn't help that I clocked 3 miles in the middle of the run at sub-18 mins, which is sub 6 min miling, it didn't feel too hard, but I was more tired during the run than what I should've been.
Tuesday- am: 30 min jog with prehab. Only jogging but felt a bit tired.
pm: Session of 1 mile in 5 mins, 6x1min off a minute, 1 mile in 4:55, 6x30s off 45s rec. Did the first mile in 4:56, then the minute reps and then a minute and a half of the second mile. Felt really tired, wearing mileage flats didn't help.
Wednesday- 50 mins then core. Felt tired for the first 20 mins or so but better after that, good run.
Thursday- 7 mile acceleration run. First mile in whatever I want just as a warm up then the next 6 miles in 6:30, 6:15, 6:00, 5:45, 5:30 and 5:15. Did 7:13, 6:29, 6:08, 5:58, 5:41, 5:19 and 5:04. Really happy with this run especially as I did it in heavy milegae flats. Felt tired on the first few miles but then really good on the last ones.
Friday- Rest day as I was travelling from London to Birmingham.
Saturday- Session with Steve. Steve had 10 mins at a high heart rate, 5 mins at a lower heart rate then 10 mins again at the higher heart rate. I did the two 10 minutes efforts with him but the 5 minutes at a slower pace because he wanted me to recover properly between the 10 minute reps. For the 10 minute reps we ran just over 2 miles on both and for the 5 minutes I was running at 6 minute miling. The legs felt comfortable on the 10 minute efforts but the chest was a bit heavy; glad I got through the session.
Sunday- 65 mins. Quite a tough run, a reminder of just how hilly Birmingham is.
51 mile week.
