Watford BMC Grand Prix-800m

This race was almost three weeks ago so I'll try and recollect as much as I can. Well I remember finishing dead last in 1:53.35 which is a slight PB and going through 800m in 55ish and not having the nicest of times.

After my previous outing over two laps I wanted to get out harder and get myself involved in the race. I did get out harder but I still found myself right at the back a few metres down of everyone else. I was almost sprinting here and I got left for dead. Anyways I didn't panic and tried to get back in contention over the next 200m. I sort of managed this but still didn't overtake anyone. Then in the third 200m I remembered this is where I made ground on people in my last 800m and started moving through so I was expecting the same to happen at any moment. Well it never did and if anything they started to pull away from me. At 600m I started to get pins and needles in my arms which was a first and a very weird feeling. Steve talked about getting it before but I thought he was just being stupid but now I know exactly what he means! The last 200m was fairly uneventful. People kept pulling away and I just brought myself through the finish line, that's about it really.

Obviously not an enjoyable race and one I walked away from thinking "I can't believe I've gone all the way to Watford and missed the first England game for that". I did wake up in the morning and felt a little lump in my throat but thought it was nothing. The next day I woke up with a cold and which may have been in my system during the race but still, if I'm going to get blown away like that in a race I'd at least like to run a bit quicker than 1:53.35. Never mind anyway, a race to forget and move on from.

you ran a PB and you still come up with 9 "excuses for a bad run." UNBELIEVEABLE. perhaps you're not an 800m runner or maybe you need steve to hold your hand in races? MAN UP for fucks sake. your blogs are normally alright but this is absolute tosh
