Review

Much like myself being a triathlete and good at all three sports but great at none and I would say these trainers are exactly like me! I have used these trainers for years and although they are not stand out in certain areas (not the lightest racing shoe or the best cushioned mileage shoe) it is a great middle ground if you dont want to buy lots of different trainers.

Not only do I race in them but I do session's from short efforts to tempo runs over miles and they a great. The fit is perfect for me and there are no niggle points that irratate over time during a training run or race like some other trainers I have used.

I do prefer these to the old styling of the trainer as well.

Jack of all trades....master of none, I give you the fastwitch!

Good Points

  • Great fit
  • Decent cushioning
  • Lightweight - ish
  • Durable
  • Like having two pairs for price of one, training and racing
  • Slight supposrt of midsole

Bad Points

  • You will either love or hate the desgin!
  • Feet do get very wet in any sort of rain

Conclusion

So long as they keep making them I will keep buying them, well until my body gives out!

Score

  8 / 10

Hi all I'm considering getting a pair of thse shoes but how long can you use them before they wear out? Since they are racers/lightweight trainers.

They also offer a "nice" lime green color: http://compare.ransacker.co.uk/search?advanceSearch=&title=&categoryId=1001&minPrice=&maxPrice=&so=RATING+DESC&ct=%3E&w=Fastwitch+4+

Yeah i'm not keen on the colour chioce either. Ive had FT 2 speed and enduro's which were excellent and now the FT 3's which i find have the same/similar feel to the FT 2's so no more hunting down old model which is sometimes a pain.

Bought a pair in California yesterday!!. I am an Adidas Adizero mana freak but my coach told me to try these ones out. I did and I am a convert. They are by far the most comfortable shoe I have run with. I was a little hesitant because there seemed to be no support in the upper mid foot, but they performed great in the 10k training run I just ran.I feel so confident that I plan to try them out at the end of the week in the Pasadena Half. Ca Marathon!!. Call it silly running a half with only a couple of runs with the shoe under my belt, but they feel soooooo good that hat I want to try. Plus the grooved sole should help with the of road hilly sections of the course.Hope this helps with some of you that are on the fence!!.
PS. Saucony. the trim on these shoes are so ugly that only the die hards will buy this shoe. My wife is a fashion designer for one of the top companies in the world and she agrees! worst case scenario. You could have offered your consumer a couple of choices.

I thought they hadn't been officially released yet, i hunted high and low for them last night on the web !
Any chance Runnerslife will have a competition with the Green pair in a size 9.5 being the prize ??? ;)

Didn't know there was a Fastwitch 4 out already !
I currently have 2 pairs of Fastwitch 2 ( FT Speed & FT Endurance)and use them for training, and 3 pairs of Fastwitch 3 (the best lightweight racer i've found so far) which are my racers.
Just wondering if this FT4 was the only colour available as it doesn't appeal to me ?
