The new Timex Global Trainer GPS watch is a must have for all those who are mad keen on recording all aspects of their runs. What this watch doesn't record isn't worth knowing. The watch has recently been released and my first impression of the watch was all about the size of it. When you first pick the watch up it does seem a little large but once on your wrist you don't notice it. It's lightweight so you don't notice it when running. The screen is clear like all Timex watches and it is easy to operate as you run a long at a good pace.
The watch has the following features-
Pace, speed and distance in real time
Display with four data windows
20-workout memory with dated summary
Interval and countdown timers
Hands-free chronograph operation
Performance pacer tracks on-time goals
Multisport mode records activities and transitions
Altitude ascent and descent rates
Record waypoints to create routes
Recall 50 custom routes for pace tracking
Long-life rechargeable battery
Water resistant to 50 meters
Indiglo night light.
Over the weeks I have been using the watch I have been very pleased with the data it has provided me with. It also offers ANT+ wireless sensors to monitor your heart rate. You can turn the GPS option off when not running in order to preserve battery life. It is easily recharged either via the mains or USB and battery life is good. This watch is great for those who also like multi sports events. The watch will be a must for any triathlete as you can record the swim, bike and run plus the transitions at the press of a button. But if like me running is your only sport then it is equally as useful. I have been having great fun viewing the altitude I have climb and descended during my runs. Once the GPS signal has been found it stays strong and reliable. The accuracy is good and consistent when I use it on runs following the same routes.

The Only negative points I have found are for a large watch some of the data is hard to read whilst running. Also the accuracy of pace whilst on the move can be vary variable from 8 min miling to 6 min miling without a noticable chnage in pace. However the average at the end of the workout is pretty accurate.
