I want to say at this point I am a beginner so is one of the reasons I went for the Nike+ Sport Band as paying £200 for a GPS watch is a little to much when I just want a rough guide to begin with. So the Nike+ Sport Band...well I suppose for the cost it is very good, it tells you what pace you are running at, the calorie counter, how far you have run and of course the time you have been running. It is pretty small compared to the other units available and you just pop part of the watch into the computer when you return to view the run on the Nike website. The clear downside to the watch (or sport band) is you cannot take splits if racing, and the pace monitor is a little disputable shall we say. I found especially in winding lanes my pace would drop a lot so maybe it was calculating in a straight line and also any sort of tree coverage would affect it where maybe the more expensive GPS watches would come into their own.
When you pay only £40 you expect it to be a little out compared to the much more expensive watches and is why I am quite happy with it, it gives my a rough guide to how far I am doing and what pace otherwise I would have no idea. I just take the pace reading when going in a straight line and go by that really.
You are suppose to put the chip in a Nike shoe although I wear a different brand of trainers so used a pouch through the laces which seems fine as I am not a fan of their trainers.
The Nike website is also easy to use and download the information.
Very good for beginners, I would imagine I will eventually be getting a Garmin at some point but this is a great starting point and represents very good value for money.
