The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club

Great news!  The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club have agreed to continue supporting me by giving me complimentary use of their health club facilities.  This support is invaluable and I'm extremely grateful to them.

I mainly use their gym for my weight training where I tend to do a mixture of machine and free weights.  It's such an important part of my training to maintain my upper body strength and core stability, especially now I'm running longer distances.  I'm not trying to build up muscle bulk, but I need enough upper body strength to maintain my form over several hours of running and to help minimise injury risk.  I can also use the weights to do the various exercises my physio has given me to address areas of weakness which could otherwise lead to potential injury.

The health club also has a range of CV machines which I can use if I need to, as well as a swimming pool.  Sadly, it's not quite deep enough for aquajogging but the use of their other facilities more than makes up for that.  The view out of the window from the treadmills and cross-trainers overlooks the golf course, with a large lake and woodland - it's almost as good as actually being outside; and watching the golfers provides some entertainment.

The facilities are excellent and the staff are all very friendly and helpful.  I'm very lucky to have the use of such a great facility and I'm hoping that I can do some PR work for them in return.
